Abandoned?
It has been forever since I posted any of my work here. I have been awfully busy with holiday preparations and travel, but after the first of the year, I'll be back... I hope!

New Cards
This is a sampling of the cards I made this past weekend. (instead of doing something productive...)
This is some Studio 8 paper I found when I was in Florida. There are three different styles in the color group--actually I think there were more, but that is all I bought--and I used them all for the two cards I made. The color is more saturated in person than in the picture.

I was snacking on these little chocolate bliss candies when I remembered the paper I had used in another project. This is the result! I love recycling things...

I found this new Sassafrass Lass paper this weekend, and just had to try it out! The little zigzag pink piece is actually the border on the sheet of paper! The paper is double sided, and between the two sides and fun little edge, I made five cards in variations using just the one sheet of printed paper and two 6X6 pieces of cardstock.

Color Inspiration Round-Up Challenge
One of my favorite weekly reads is K Werner Designs, as I love her Make a Card Monday videos. I haven't ever actually made any of them, but they do inspire me. Kristina is a Stampin' Up distributor, and most weeks besides MCAM, she does a Color Inspiration Round-up where people submit cards they made from a color palette she suggests. I have never done one before, but actually had a card in the right colors this time, so I thought I'd play along.

Here is the card I made. It is for my son's girlfriend's mom. She speaks some English, but I had never made a card with Spanish text, so I thought I'd give it a try. The paper I used is Scenic Route. I cut the printed paper the size I needed to fit in the square Bazzill envelope, then adhered it to a plain white card so I didn't have to use the whole sheet of printed paper and the print on the other side didn't show. This also allowed me to print a personalized message inside the card. I cut a My Mind's Eye frame down to fit and rounded the corners. I used photo tape to put down the printed ribbon, then adhered a Bazzill library pocket to the frame. The flowers and leaves (Prima) are layered and held together with a Making Memories brad. Since I wanted to put a card into the pocket, I just used a glue dot to hold it on rather than putting the brad through the pocket. The knot/bow on the top of the insert is also held on with a glue dot.
The rub-on embellishment on the front is by TLC, and the text on the insert in the pocket is just printed onto a regular sheet of white card stock, then cut to size, corner rounded and inked with brown ink around the edges.
